I have always loved sports photography. There is something pure about sports that you don't find with other pursuits.
Whether it is on a field, on a court or even in a bull riding ring, the participants put everything into their sports (including the bull). I shot all of the major high school sports, pro baseball and several other athletic endeavors.
A South Grand Prairie baseball player winds up for a pitch during a tournament at that school.
A Grand Prairie High School receiver reaches for a pass he will never catch.
A DeSoto High School running back looks for daylight between two Cedar Hill High School Longhorns. This was taken the season that Cedar Hill won its first 5A state football title.
A Grand Prairie High School player eyes a basket playing the L.D. Bell Raiders.
The Grand Prairie Pumpkin Run Charity 10K is an annual event that brings out both competitive and casual runners. I tried to capture the kinetic nature of the sport by dropping the ISO settings and tightening down the aperture on my camera. That way, I could use a slow shutter and get extreme motion blur.
