Product photography was relatively new to me when I took the job with DuraChoice. For someone who is used to taking portraits and journalistic candids, the idea of photographing stationary objects has a definite upside. At the very least, no one is going to try and photobomb an industrial parts shoot.
At the same time, it can be hard to invest product shots with any of the life that characterizes my other work. I mean, a valve is just a valve, right? Well, even if that is true, I like to think the photos on this page show a little more than brass, plastic and steel. There is a potential power to them if you look at them the right way. Here's hoping you see the same things I do.
